Thursday, September 15: Pulling articles for scanning (physically or electronically). Scanning. Electronic delivery of documents. Shelving. Had a learning lesson with Junie concerning acquisitions at the library. We discussed the library's various contracts and subscriptions with vendors, the use of consortia in negotiating with vendors. A 'leisure reading' list was recently started by Junie to provide books which are currently popular and sought after (Unbroken, The Art of Fielding, The Hunger Games, etc.). Junie also discussed how she also likes to get some extras for patron use, i.e. equipment such as video cameras, laptops, netbooks.
